San Nyein Aung
Founder
San started his career while concurrently studying for his bachelor’s degree at Ronoc Myanmar, an advisory firm that specializes in emerging markets and fintech. He then worked for a Singapore-domiciled private equity firm manager called Emerging Markets Investment Advisers, where he worked on deals in Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. San also has experience working for tech startups – in Myanmar and in Germany. San has experience both as a GP and as a LP in the private equity space. Most recently, San was a business development director at one of Cambodia’s largest conglomerates where he led on fundraising, acquisitions and operational improvement initiatives.
A Myanmar national, San grew up largely in Singapore. San has a BSc in Economics & Finance (First Class) from the University of London with academic direction from the London School of Economics and a MSc in Economics from Ludwig Maxmilian University of Munich. His MSc thesis was titled, “Economic shocks – How does population ageing affect short-term business cycles?”. San is a certified Financial Modelling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) from the Corporate Finance Institute.
